Our Commitment to Equity

At HigherEd Navigator, we are deeply committed to promoting equity in education. We recognize the historical and systemic injustices that have disproportionately affected first-generation college students, minority students, immigrant students, and foster care students. These injustices have created significant barriers to accessing and completing higher education, which can impact lifetime opportunities and socioeconomic mobility.

  • First-Generation College Students: Historically, many first-generation college students come from families with limited access to higher education. This lack of generational experience can make navigating the college admissions process particularly challenging, often resulting in lower college enrollment and completion rates.

  • Minority Students: Minority students have faced and continue to face systemic racism and discrimination within the education system. From underfunded schools to biased admissions practices, these barriers have contributed to lower representation and higher dropout rates among minority students in higher education.

  • Immigrant Students: Immigrant students often encounter additional challenges such as language barriers, cultural adjustments, and legal obstacles. These factors can significantly hinder their ability to access, afford, and complete a college education.

  • Foster Care Students: Students in the foster care system often experience instability and lack of consistent support, which can negatively impact their educational outcomes. Frequent relocations and changes in schools disrupt their learning, and they often lack access to resources and guidance needed to succeed in higher education.

ClarifyEd’s Commitment:

  • Access: We strive to provide accessible services and resources to all students, regardless of their background. Our discounted rates for first-generation, minority, immigrant, and foster care students are just one way we work to reduce financial barriers.

  • Support: We offer tailored guidance and support to meet the unique needs of each student. By understanding their specific challenges, we can provide the targeted assistance they need to succeed.

  • Advocacy: We advocate for equity in education and work to raise awareness about the systemic barriers these students face. Through our services and outreach, we aim to empower students to overcome these obstacles and achieve their academic goals.

  • Empowerment: Our goal is to empower students with the knowledge, resources, and confidence they need to navigate the college admissions process and succeed in higher education. By doing so, we hope to contribute to a more equitable and inclusive educational landscape.
